Do dwarf rabbits smell bad?
Dwarf rabbits don’t smell anymore than regular rabbits. They shouldn’t smell bad…it’s their cages that do. Make sure to give your rabbit a litter box…they sell them at Petco & Petsmart. Litterboxes are triangular-shaped to fit in the corner. Rabbits naturally like to designate certain spots for eating, sleeping & urinating, so teaching them to use a litter box is easy. This should be cleaned everyday, not only for sanitary reasons, but also for the health of the rabbit. The ammonia in their urine is harsh on their lungs. The overall cage should be cleaned at least once a week with diluted bleach and water. Doing this should eliminate odor. Male rabbits can sometimes smell if they are not neutered, because they spray. Vets recommend spaying & neutering rabbits to improve the health of the rabbit, as well as prolong its life. This will also help to eliminate odor. I hope that helps.
