Do Dogs Eyes Get Matted From Allergies?
Anything which causes inflammation of the eyes can results in redness, pain, and discharge. Increased discharge can definitely lead to matted hair around the eyes. Conditions which cause red irritated eyes include allergies, glaucoma, inwardly turned eyelashes, trauma, foreign bodies, infection, iritis, and lack of tear production. Some of these causes can be very serious and red eyes warrant a trip to the vet to rule out these causes.
