In other words, how much smoke your pot is quickly subjected to. Some materials have the potential to release more carbon than others. The condition of your material (wet, damp, dry) as well as the particle size as in the case of wood materials (sawdust, shavings, chips) can be important. The type of wood can also affect your results.
