Do dermal fillers/Radiesse/Sculptra hurt?
Injections can be uncomfortable and therefore you are offered a choice of local anaesthetic cream to the skin being treated or a full dental anaesthetic block. The local anaesthetic cream must be applied at least 30 minutes before the treatment. A full block involves 2-4 injections into the gum, which will numb the face in a few seconds, just as you would have at the dentist. This can take a couple of hours to wear off.
