Do deers eat small animals or are they herbivores?

0

Yes as said numerous times deer(plural and singular no s) are herbivores, however, there are certain species such as the “Red Deer of rhum” Red deer(Cervus elaphus) on the island of Rhum do at times of the year resort to carnivory. They do so by eating small birds which are laid on the island by the parents and left to fend to themselves as there are no natural predators. But because the food that the deer eat is of low nutritional value and they need vital nutrients to survive the deer will resort to carnivory in rare cases such as these.
