Do De Meeuw units require foundations?
Yes. All units have to be placed on some form of foundation, but the type and size of that foundation will depend on the number of storeys that the structure is to have, and the nature of the surface on which it is to be placed. In the Netherlands, the geology of the subsoil is always a very important factor in any construction work. Where there is a firm sand layer, concrete slabs or steel girders may be sufficient. On clay, piles will usually have to be driven.
