Yes, but I do think that in some cases it is necessary to show such graphic detail. I think the problem is less with this aforementioned graphic detail, and much more with the context of it. A sex scene in a Vin Diesel action movie is gratuitous and unnecessary- it is inserted solely for sexual titillation, to increase ratings, to put snippets in the trailer and get people to come watch. It doesn’t convey information or emotions (other than lust), doesn’t further the plot or serve any real purpose other than to turn people on and send out the message “Our hero is a bad*ss!”. Compare that to other gratuitous scenes in sexual movies where what happens during the sex- emotionally or otherwise- is integral to the plot, where the sex is meaningful and reflects how sex is in our lives. That is *very* different. I roll my eyes at the former, but the latter- scenes in sexually-charged TV shows like “Nip/Tuck”, for example, are examples of sexuality used in a good way.
