Do current 10th and 11th grade students need to take Economics?

No, only current 9th graders (class of 2011). Current 10th and 11th graders are required to take either 1.0 credit AP U.S. Government, OR 0.5 credit U.S. Government. Students can take either Government class in their Junior or Senior year. These students (classes of 2010 and 2009) can now take Economics as an elective during their Junior or Senior year.
