Staffing implications for the courts have been discussed, and we have findings from a study of the prototype products. But we do not yet have data regarding the impact of the current CM/ECF products which have been greatly enhanced beyond the prototype products. Some courts feel that, especially in light of the new staffing formula, they need temporary additional staff to help them through the “bubble” of the CM/ECF implementation process. A study is underway to assess that need. (Updated: January 2001) 12. How exactly is a court to handle the following non-electronic filings: documents that are not, or cannot, be rendered into PDF format; pro se or prisoner litigants who do not have access to a computer; counsel that do not have computers?
