Each year charter schools may choose the method of reporting their CBEDS (and CALPADS) data to the California Department of Education (CDE). Charter schools may choose to: (1) report data independent of its authorizing agency directly to the CDE; or (2) have the authorizing agency report the charter school data to the CDE. The charter school’s funding type does not affect the charter school’s reporting choice. Charter schools that choose to report independently of their authorizing agency. The independently reporting charter school will only complete the SIF, and will not complete a CDIF. This year, independently reporting charter schools will report estimated teacher hires and high school graduation requirements (if applicable) on their School Information Form.
