Beginning this year charter schools may choose the method of reporting CBEDS-OPUS SIF data. The two available reporting options are (1) the charter school reports data independent of its authorizing agency directly to the CDE using CBEDS-OPUS or (2) the authorizing agency reports the charter school data to the CDE using OPUS-CBEDS. Reporting status does not impact or have any relation to the charter school funding type. The deadline for selecting this reporting status was June 30, 2009. Please note, while charter schools may report their SIF data independently of their authorizing agency, they do not complete a CDIF. The authorizing agency must include any applicable information (estimated teacher hires) about their charter schools on their CDIF. Therefore, if a charter school plans to hire teachers in the next school year, this data must be included on the authorizing agencies CDIF.
