Do cops get free coffee?
Not in all places and not all the time. But at many fast food and convenience stores, yes, they do. Some companies even have a corporate policy that states that this is to be offered. Because of their twenty four hour operations, the rationale is that by offering the coffee to patrolling officers it makes it somewhat more likely that officers will stop by at unusual hours for a cup. Due to their twenty four hour operation and their vulnerability to being held up – the cost of coffee is a negligible expense when balanced against the deterrent effect of tjhe officer’s irregular presence.
