Do contestants only play country music?
Goldie: No, they can sing their own songs. Some perform songs from the Seventies or Eighties, rock, gospel and even show tunes. Sometimes we supply a genre for competition but especially for auditions, contestants are welcome to perform any type of music they wish. What are some twists from the past? Goldie: Last year, everyone in the audience got a ballad and voted someone off. We bring people back on and let those who have been voted off pick the winner. We don’t know what’s going to happen from week to week; it’s a hoot! We sit on the sidelines every week discussing, never really knowing what’s going on. We are shocked as anyone.
