Do conseratives color coordinate their sentimental cliches?
The only thing that stops us here in the UK from doing something for the poor is that when any measure to help the helpless is mooted, our middle classes rear up on their hind legs and bellow “what about us?” at the top of their voices. They are aggressive, demanding and vicious, do not give a toss about the poor and resent any attempts to help them. Maybe this is the attitude embedded in the cliches you are talking about, sentimentality and violence with nothing in between except greed. I never could understand the financial trickle down theory, if you want to help the poor you give them money, what is the point of giving money to the rich as it will trickle down to the poor? It won’t, the rich will keep the money and the poor will see none of it. As to your multiple choice question, none of them is right I feel, what tconservatives do is project their worst behaviour onto others, they are not talking about the greed of the poor but of their greed.
