Do communist countries have censorship?

Communist countries have a Political Office. It’s function is to review everything – newspapers, magazines, radio, and TV – before it is offered to the public and ensure that it only contains politically acceptable content. They can ban whatever they want. If it gets published or broadcast anyhow, the reporter and publisher can face prison time.

There are lots of different ways of controlling the “news” Note that if somebody where to get on his soapbox in the park and proclaim that the President is a criminal … at this point in time, so many people get their “news” from TV that its a moot point…. who would listen to the radical in the park, The world has progressed beyond “censorship” in the classical sense, DISSENT can be shut-down by other means. but its still suppression and its morally WRONG! KILL YOUR TELEVISION!

Communism doesn’t equate dictatorship. Most countries that have dictators call themselves that. Communism is collective ownership of the manufacture and distribution of goods.

Yes, they have censorship. Ironically, that’s one of the fears of a Communist government.
