No to the first part, but there is some truth to the idea that the wealthy ‘network’ better or differently into higher paying jobs than people who aren’t wealthy. The Ivy league/expensive schools play a part of that and so does the issue of people who like to mingle in certain circles, if you get involved in social groups/clubs and stay connected you have more connections to jobs/industry. The wealthy may hold onto those types of connections more than others who aren’t looking to associate with other people they look at as the same, ie many wealthy people might want to associate with other wealthy people whereas many non wealthy people might not care how much money someone has. Ultimately a degree is a piece of paper, how you got it dictates what it is worth, did you put effort into your learning or just ‘get by’.
