Do coconuts stay afloat?
Coconut trees are found on islands all over the world. The same trees on uninhabited islands are found on beaches everywhere else. Coconuts have a very handy ability to, not only float, but stay afloat for years at a time. Coconut trees are located near the ocean, and their coconuts often fall into the water. Only when these coconuts have floated across the ocean, or just down the beach a little, and come up on solid ground will they begin their germination producing another tree.
