Co-op Scholars incur the normal HECS debt related to the degree the student is studying. However, additional time spent at University completing industrial training placements does not incur additional HECS . Co-op scholarship payments can be spent at the student’s absolute discretion and therefore could be used to pay-off all or part of a HECS debt.
