Limited hours is the like #1 complaint from part-time retail associates, probably at any company. Your availability is also a key input to how many hours you get, but even people with open availability sometimes dont get enough hours. It just depends on the needs of the business. If your store isnt doing well, the hours they’re allowed to use are minimal, and if they dont meet sales goals each day, hours need to be cut. Your performance may also have something to do with it — are you a likeable employee who does what the managers tell you to and you offer great service and get ONCs? People like that are more likely to get hours than people who come to work complaining and have no energy. It helps sometimes if you leave your name and number/email by the time clock, and let people know that you’re available to cover people’s shifts.
