Do cigarettes worsen symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis?

(added) Everyone I spoke to noticed an improvement in symptoms when the gave up smoking. Now there are numerous heath advantages to giving up smoking, but the people I spoke to specifically noticed improvement in some symptoms. Also remember, MS and heat do not go together, so inhaling smoke (warm smoke) can not help. Also it contaminates the natural air supply of the body, again this is bad for anyone, but seems worse on victims of MS.
