Do Christians believe in the law of karma?
The law of karma and the Christian good news of grace are opposite teachings. Some people may think that Christianity teaches the law of karma because there is a biblical teaching that a man reaps what he sows. This sounds like the law of karma. However, the Bible does not mean that if we do good deeds in this present life we will be reborn in a higher state in the next life. This does not mean that we will avoid sickness or suffering. The Saviour Jesus said: God causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.[14] In other words, good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. This is not the law of karma. Christian teaching is that no one can make a way to know God by doing good deeds or performing religious acts. We cannot take away or erase our own sin.
