No, a patient does not need referral by an MD or DO before visiting a doctor of chiropractic. At Better Health; however, our clinical provider staff work as a team and will often consult and treat patients in a comprehensive program tailored specifically for that patient. Following a consultation and examination, the doctor of chiropractic will arrive at a diagnosis under chiropractic care and provide a detailed ongoing treatment plan and/or refer the patient to the appropriate health care provider.
