A resounding yes from all young people involved. · Because young people cannot vote they feel that politicians do not care about them. · An adult figure would be a positive move forward in promoting young people’s rights/views. If you think they do, can you say why you think they need that person? · There does not seem to be anyone to listen to the views of young people with power to do anything. · Would be a good idea if every child or young person had access to the commissioner. · They need that person to feel empowered to push for their rights. · For young people to have a voice. · To have someone who can identify the needs of young people and represent them. · Help young people get what they need. · A person who can debate/discuss/challenge “higher up” people on young people’s behalf. · The Commissioner could access organisations/political representatives i.e. MSPs, who at times appear very distant to young peoples’ issues.
