Do chicken sandwiches have the potential to cause food poisoning? What microorganisms might be responsible?
Sure they do, if they are not prepared using good handling practices. Salmonella is common in chicken and eggs. If it is not cooked properly or if the cutting board is not cleaned properly after cutting raw chicken, it can contaminate other foods prepared on the unclean surface. If you don’t wash your hands well after handling raw chicken, you can also spread the salmonella to other areas of the kitchen. Hope this helps.
