Any charter school, regardless of CALPADS and CBEDS-OPUS reporting status, may conduct assessments through their authorizing agency or independently from their authorizing agency; however, as a best practice, charter schools should use the same reporting status for CALPADS/CBEDS-OPUS as they used for reporting Pre-ID and statewide assessment data. For example, a charter school reporting data independently to CALPADS/CBEDS-OPUS should also conduct statewide assessments (e.g. Pre-ID, etc.) independent from their authorizing agency.
