Do CFL’s affect people who get migraine headaches?
Although people think that CFL’s hum and flicker, which is a major cause attributing to migraine headaches, new CFL’s with electronic ballasts which have a cycle rate of around 40,000 times per second compared to 120 times per second in old CFL’s with magnetic ballasts. This one factor helped with a major reduction in CFL’s causing people problems. Now there is no noticeable flicker or hum what so ever so the problem is simply a misconception associated with older style CFL’s.
