Do certain hair grooming practices make ringworm of the scalp more likely?
A study looking at how people manage their hair and scalp ringworm found that there was no association between the condition and grooming practices such as hairstyle, how often you wash your hair, or using hair oils. There is also no evidence that shaved heads reduce the risk of ringworm spreading, or make treating it easier.
