Do CD walkman have the ability to play through stereo speakers?
That’s all the headphones are on a walkman, stereo speakers that are enclosed to just your ears. In audio terminology, it’s a Line level output. Stereos normally take a Line level input, so it can take your walkman output and amplify it through its own speakers. (You could actually hook up regular speakers right to your walkman, but the power level would be low, so it wouldn’t sounds as loud as it does through your headphones. So that’s why you want to hook the walkman up to an amplifier that drives the external speakers.) You will need a special cable, however, to hook it up. Headphone plugs are usually stereo mini plugs (also known as 1/8″ or 3.5mm phone plugs). Stereo amps usually have separate left & right RCA input jacks (also known as phono jacks). So you’ll need an adapter cable with a stereo mini plug on one end, and two RCA plugs on the other end. They commonly come in 3′ or 6′ lengths and shouldn’t cost more than $5. Lastly, you’ll have two volume controls, one on the walkman
