Do catappa leaves help discus breed?
The leaves themselves won’t help, but by leaching tannins into the water, they’ll lower the pH, making the water more suitable for Discus. You can do the exact same thing with almond leaves, driftwood, or blackwater extract (I use the latter). Keep in mind, all the catappa leaves in the world won’t help your fish if something else is out of order– unpaired fish, poor water quality, cold water, etc.
