Do cartilage piercings hurt?
You hear lots of horror stories and the truth is, those people probably went to the wrong place where they charge you £5 and don’t wear gloves. I have my top cartilage and tragus piercing and neither hurt badly. My top cartilage was the most painless for the actual piercing (but it was done with a gun which is a big mistake don’t let anyone pierce cartilage with a gun!!) but the healing was awful and it still gives me trouble years after (thinking about having it re-pierced with a needle). Make sure a needle is used. The girl above was right in saying it can shatter your cartilage. The needle is hollow so actually makes room the the metal, but a gun just pushes through, which is OK with the actual flesh of your lobes but not cartilage.
