Depending on your housing you wont make more money to live off the base because the Canadian forces will pay for most of your living costs. When your just back from being overseas and need a place to stay with plans to go back, I would suggest just stay on the base and be with the people there, Since your absolutely free to leave at anytime and go visit friends and family for a day.
