Do C-Pal and echo use SMS to pass data to and from the Vehicle Unit?
Yes and No. They send and receive messages by SMS as well as voice messages ensuring that there is a backup should capacity on one network be exceeded. In exceptional circumstances where capacity is exceeded on both SMS and voice calls, the units are traceable by other means. We do not give out details of our alternative third tracking method.
