New legislation introduced in New South Wales, Australia, requires agents operating in or out of New South Wales as buyer’s agents to be licensed. Note: A real estate licence is separate and different to a Certificate of Registration which enables holders to act in the capacity of a real estate agent under the supervision of a licensee. Industry experience, selling agent experience and market knowledge are essential skills for a buyer’s agent. But more importantly strong negotiation skills and extensive research skills for undertaking the required due diligence are essential for an effective and successful buyers agent. These are qualities which you should look for in selecting your buyer’s agent.
