Do businesses support restricting access to spray paint and broad tip markers?
Yes! The County Attorney’s Office surveyed eight randomly selected businesses in Phoenix to determine whether their sales had been hurt by the non-access requirement of the Phoenix ordinance. None of these businesses reported decreased sales, and two reported increased sales because they were able to discuss the customer’s needs and sell additional products. MAG received letters of support from Home Depot and two Glidden Paint stores documenting their support. However, an organized effort by representatives of the paint industry-sponsored national organization and their lobbyist have expressed opposition to the non-access clause of the ordinance.
