Do Burn-off Ovens cause air pollution?
Burn-off Ovens are usually gas-fired and as such generate carbon dioxide. Other emissions will be extremely low if the oven has the right type of control system; and the afterburner temperature and residence time is adequate. Steelman Burn-off Ovens have the highest temperature and longest residence time in the industry, and we have the stack test results to prove it. We can assist you in obtaining a permit before you purchase an oven so you can be sure that you will be allowed to operate it. Also, the oven needs a control system that will prevent it from having a fire either in the oven or the stack. Steelman Burn-off Ovens have a patented system called Rate Control to prevent this from happening.
