Do Boys Dance?
Yes, they most certainly do – especially at PAI. It is so frustrating that some parents are afraid to let their male children participate in dance because of the negative stigma that most people place on male dancers. No one criticizes, Usher, Chris Brown, P Diddy, Genuine and countless other males that dominate the stage with their smooth grooves. While legendary pop star, Michael Jackson was criticized for many things, dancing was not one of them. His ability to dance was so powerful, he influenced dancers (and non-dancers) all over the world and in his death he has influenced yet another generation of youth with his style and personification. Why are people so afraid of male ballet dancers? Well, it’s basically because of a lack of exposure and the old “how are you going to make a living doing that; let alone provide for a family?” While those are legitimate questions, there are also legitimate answers.
