Do Booklist reviewers read the books they are reviewing?

Booklist yes. Booklist is an American Library Association publication. Those reviews basically state that libraries should buy items. None of the reviews you see are negative in it because all have already gone through high standards of reviews. If a reviewer thought it was trash, they wouldn’t even bother placing it in the publication. Now Amazon I definantly question and PW are the publishers trying to get their way, but Booklist is fairly high quality because its held to ALA and professional librarian standards.
