Do black flies carry diseases?

I live in “Black-fly Country” and believe me they don’t carry diseases. However, some people are allergenic to their bites. If I go in the woods or go picking berries, I spray on “Skin So Soft” by Avon. It’s a perfect repellent and its smell isn’t repulsive. Enjoy the outdoors!
