Do berber carpets require a special pad?

0

We’ve had to restretch several installations of berber because of too soft a pad so the answer, we think, is Yes. We recommend a minimum 7-pound berber pad. Since using this type pad we’ve had no further problems with installation. Our clothing store has commercial carpet glued to a concrete floor. The carpet is wrinkling and seems to be “growing.” What causes this? I’m concerned a customer will trip over the loose areas. There are several possible causes for this occurrence: (1) Loose jute, (2) repeated liquid spills (water, coffee, etc.), (3) heavy wheeled carts, etc., that can cause adhesive to breakdown, (4) poor adhesive rate applied at installation …and many other causes. We suggest contacting a certified installer in your area. We will E-mail you a name, if you need one.
