Do bees poo in their hives and does any get into their honey? ?
No and no. Their honey is produced at the other end of their bodies. The only outside chance of that happening is when the bees are sick with Nosema or something else. Even then the healthy “House Bees” would haul them away from the hive. Consider that bees are insects. As such, in mid winter when they go on cleansing flights to go poo,they only have a few minutes to get out, poo and get back into the warmth of the hive. Often you can see little yellow spots on the snow from these runs. They eat all winter long and ever so often have to go to the toilet no matter the weather. Without food, they begin to starve in about 4 hrs. In 6 to 8 hrs they are dead. The house bees would carry out the poo and/or seal off the offending cells if such an accident occurred.
