Do Bees and Wasps build nests?
Yes, wasps form quite elaborate nests made from chewed bark and timber mixed with saliva. Nests can be located in soil banks, roof spaces, under eaves and in bushes, hedges and trees. Bees tend to make their nests in hollow trees and sometimes in chimney pots but the majority of colonies are owned by beekeepers and are kept in hives. Bumble bee nests are often similar to an enclosed bird nest and can be found in loose earth, under compost heaps or under a garden shed.
