Do Bananas make other fruit ripen quicker in a fruit bowl?

Yes they do but they also go black quicker if they are surrounded by other fruit, my tip is to keep them separate from all other fruit that way they themselves stay fresher longer!

I too have been told that bananas ripen other fruit in the bowl quicker, and I think they really do…we always put our bananas at the side of our fruit bowl….Just in case!!

I have heard that – but in my experience whenever I put bananas in with the other fruit – the bananas themselves tend to ripen quicker, the rest of the fruit stays ok. Must just be my topsy-turvy world again!!
