Do authors vary the types of sentences they used?
The good authors vary sentences. Which sentences do they tend to use in their writing? This will be based on personal experience. Some students write long sentences and others very short. Which ones are more enjoyable to read? Again, this is based on personal preference. I personally find long Virginia Woolfe like sentences to be incredibly strenuous, but the short sentences of Hemingway also bother me too. A mix is nice.
