Not at all. From what I understand, the “criminals” sent to Australia were more likely dissidents of some sort than rapists and murderers and all that. And their values seem to focus on a sort of pioneer spirit. I’ve never met an Australian that was afraid to be him/her self. And they can drink Americans under the table.
