Do atheists know why humans age and then die?”?
Firstly, this question is not particularly relevant to atheists. The people you should be asking are scientists, some of whom are atheists and some not. I will attempt to answer the question on a scientific basis. At the first level, the answer is No, science does not know. There are a number of hypotheses, of which I will explain my preferred on. Humans are, of course, animals. For all animals, there are good times and bad times. Drought, disease, floods, winters, increases in predators, all these bring bad times and cut the population. Conversely, when all these go away, there can be golden times for a species when there is plenty of food and fewer causes of death and the population can expand. When the good times come, the population /must/ expand to consume the new resources. If not, there will be food going spare. And that means that another species will expand to take advantage of this spare food. But if that other species is sharing the food supply, when the bad times come it wi
