Do Atheists believe in evolution?
Evolution is a scientific explanation of the observed development of living species over time. It is not a belief, but a scientific tool that is used in medicine, biology, and chemistry by the religious and non-religious alike. Over the last 100 years or so scientists have come to accept evolution as by far the best and most useful explanation of life on the planet Earth. There have been no scientific challenges to shake the foundations of this theory. At some points in this period of time there have been people outside the realm of science who would argue with the premise of evolution based on political and/or religious motivations. However, religion and politics are irrelevant to the Scientific Method. These complaints affect only the teaching of science to future generations and have had nothing to add to or substract from the theory itself. Atheists are free to utilize, modify, argue with, or be indifferent to the theory of evolution. Their reaction as with anyone else will be base
