Since artificial logs have a fair amount of paraffin, they burn hotter than wood. So there will usually not be any second or third degree creosote from duraflame logs. Duraflame logs still make the chimney dirty. However, it’s generally easier to sweep the chimney since it’s mainly soot that would need to be removed.
