Do Artificial Lights Affect Plant Growth?
Plants use light to produce biological elements necessary for growth, such as sugars and starches, and for the process of photosynthesis. The red and blue rays in the light spectrum provide plants with the most energy for growth and good health. Natural sunlight provides the appropriate balance of blue and red rays with green and yellow rays. The balance of these colors produces white light. An artificial light source needs to have a sufficient amount of blue and red rays in order to positively affect plant growth.
