Do anyone know anything about Viziers, Priests or Doctors from ancient Egypt?
Viziers served as the top commanders to the Egyptian monarchs. It is reported that the viziers for King Tutankhamen may have plotted to kill him, this type of thing is rumoured to have happened often. Priests were extremely important in Egypt, and held great authority. They lived secluded lives in temples, and often slept on uncomfortable mats of reed and such. When a king did not have the support of the priests (like Akhenaten), the country was usually in a state of trouble. Doctors were also important–back then, they believed that the heart was the center of the body and the most important organ. The brain, according to the Egyptians, was not necessary. Often doctors would prescribe “protective” amulets for sick persons, given the lack of medical knowledge in the time period.
