Do any vehicle repairs qualify for an emissions inspection waiver?
Only the costs of repairs that are related to emissions and which are not under warranty can qualify toward a waiver. Any repairs that are done to correct tampering with equipment do not qualify toward the waiver. If a customer does the repairs, only the cost of the parts used in the repair can qualify for the waiver. You must enter the information about the waiver and the costs into the NYTEST analyzer. You must keep copies of all documents that describe the parts and labor for at least two years.
